It's A Goner

When we first bought our house, the yard was covered in about 4 feet of snow. We didn't realize until the following Spring the huge task we were going to have to tackle. My husband immediately got to work and spent all of our hard earned money and all of his free time on the lawn. He pulled up the curbing, took out the flower beds, laid down manure and seed and watered like crazy. It took us a while until we realized that our whole yard had been taken over by GRUBS! Once we finally had those pesky things overtaken, our lawn started growing. Last August, our lawn looked like this....

(Don't mind the nasty parking strip. My husband kills that on purpose every year!)

About two weeks ago, we noticed we were getting a few weeds. I think that weeds are part of an unsigned contract in Tooele County. Almost every yard fights them annually. My husband ran to the store, with what little cash we had, and bought broad leaf weed killer. Apparently, the grass we had in yard was all broad leaf because this what it looks like now...

Well, almost. We now have horse manure and seed spread all over the front lawn. We are hoping and praying that this works because I am really getting tired of the neighbors asking me if we killed it on purpose!
